 PPP

In August 2010, the Government of Bangladesh gazetted a new policy for public-private partnerships. The policy is comprised of:

Policy and Strategy for Public-Private Partnership (PPP), 2010
Guidelines for Formulation, Appraisal and Approval of Large Projects, 2010
Guidelines for Formulation, Appraisal and Approval of Medium Projects, 2010
Guidelines for Formulation, Appraisal and Approval of Small Projects, 2010
After adoption of the new Policy and Strategy for Public-Private Partnership in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Private Sector Infrastructure Guidelines (PSIG), 2004 have been rescinded.

The newly established Office for Public-Private Partnership has assumed all responsibility from PICOM for implementation of PPP in Bangladesh.

The Government of Bangladesh, supported by the Asian Development Bank, is in the process of operationalizing its new PPP Program. The Office for Public-Private Partnership will be launching a new web portal shortly. Please refer here for further updates.

Dr. S A Samad Joins as the Executive Chairman of BOI
The Government has appointed Dr. S A Samad as the Executive Chairman of BOI in the rank and status of Minister.A former Principal Secretary, Dr. Samad has more than 35 years
experience as a civil servant, economist, academic and development consultant. He held various positions including Economic Advisor to the Honorable President of Bangladesh, Secretary, Energy & Mineral Resources, Secretary, Post & Telecommunications and Program Director / Coordinator (Economic Management & Information Technology) of the United Nations Asia Pacific Development Centre. He was professor of economics, business administration Division, at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Korea, for the period 2007-2009.
