PICOM Meeting

Meeting
The fourteenth PICOM meeting was held on 28 January
2010 at Prime Minister's office. Principal Secretary
and Chairman of PICOM, Mr. M A Karim presided over
the meeting. The meeting primarily focused on finalizing
issues related to Private Infrastructure Project
listed projects, formation of PPP Cell and PPP Advisory
Committee and revision of Private Sector Infrastructure
Guidelines (PSIG). The meeting was informed that
Honorable Prime Minister has approved a summary
of revised guidelines newly named as Bangladesh
Public Private Partnership Policy and Guidelines
2009.
It was resolved in the meeting that a detailed report
will be presented by Bangladesh Land Port Authority
at the next PICOM meeting regarding the issues of
Sonamasjid and Hili land ports. Birol, Banglabandha,
Teknaf and Bibir Bazaar land ports were also discussed
in the meeting. It was also decided that in future,
tender notice for all PPP projects will be published
on PICOM and CPTU website.
Subcommittee for revising the Private Sector Infrastructure
Guidelines and the relevant Ministries were requested
to submit their opinion on the revised guidelines
to PICOM secretariat. Based on their opinion the
guideline will be further modified and placed to
the cabinet division.
