Ensure that Private Infrastructure Projects are carried out, keeping in view the integrated infrastructure requirements of the country. |
(b) |
Promote private sector participation in financing, constructing, maintaining and/or operating infrastructure projects. |
(c) |
Oversee and monitor the actual Project progress against the time-line submitted by the Executing Agency, |
(d) |
Ensure evaluation, and assisting in smooth execution of Private Infrastructure Projects. |
(e) |
Share activities with concerned stakeholders and the media in a transparent manner, publishing its activities and decisions on the website. |
(f) |
Assist in negotiations with Investors of Large Infrastructure Projects, if required by the concerned Ministry. |
(g) |
Expedite decisions in the investment process by resolving complex inter-ministerial issues; |
(h) |
Oversee that Projects meet established socio-economic and environmental policy criteria and that it conforms to Government legislation. |
(i) |
Prepare and implement plans for developing expertise and capacity of Government officials to understand and manage Private Infrastructure Projects and ensuring that the officials are retained within the infrastructure Line Ministries. |
(j) |
Promote new laws, regulations and policies for successful implementation of Private Infrastructure Projects by creating enabling conditions and supportive framework. |
(k) |
Monitor contingent liabilities of Private Infrastructure Projects in Bangladesh and any other global issues related to such projects. |
(l) |
Identify and analyze reasons for the lack of desired enabling environment for investment and lobbying with the appropriate authorities to address those factors. |
